Hello! My name is Yulia Ramirez.
I'm not a student who decided to work as a tutor, nor am I a blogger teaching a language using online materials. I'm a professional teacher with a university degree in linguistics and pedagogy and 20 years of experience.
I've lived in Spain for over 23 years. During this time, Spanish has become my second native language. I know not only academic grammar but also everyday Spanish: natural expressions, modern vocabulary, pronunciation features, regional differences, and linguistic nuances that cannot be mastered from a textbook alone.
I'm a current professor at a Spanish university and previously worked as a professional voice-over artist. Therefore, in my classes, I focus not only on grammar and vocabulary but also on pronunciation, intonation, rapid speech comprehension, and the ability to sound natural.
A separate area of my work is preparation for the international DELE exam at various levels. I previously served on the DELE examination committee, so I know the exam inside out: its structure, assessment criteria, requirements for the oral and written sections, typical candidate mistakes, and the reasons why they lose points.
In our classes, we cover all types of exam questions in detail, develop listening and comprehension skills, and practice the written and oral sections. We also conduct mock exams in conditions as close to real-life as possible. After each exam, the student receives a detailed analysis of their mistakes and personalized recommendations.
In regular classes, we don't waste hours on mechanical exercises. New vocabulary and grammar are immediately incorporated into spoken language, and listening is based on real, modern Spanish.
I work with the Comprehensible Input system—a method of clear language immersion. You learn not to translate every phrase in your head, but gradually begin to think and respond naturally in Spanish.
It's very important to me that the student feels calm and confident. I know how to listen, support, and notice when someone is struggling, afraid of making a mistake, or simply needs a little more time. In my lessons, there's no shame in not knowing something, asking questions, or making mistakes.
